Here’s how you can learn Tarot through quick and easy video lessons!
I’ve just created a series of YouTube videos called ‘Two Minutes of Tarot Training.’ I’ve set up a few to start with, and more will be produced as I get time. Since the Aces are the start of the Minor Arcana, I recorded episodes about these cards first.
Click here to watch the first one on YouTube, or keep going if you want to read my script for this video. My notes are not exactly a transcript, as I tend to ramble off-topic now and then, but it’s pretty close to what you’ll see on-screen. And you’ll notice that I don’t strictly contain myself to the two-minute timing as advertised because I sometimes get carried away with ideas.
I hope you enjoy my new training videos!
The Ace of Cups
Whether you are playing Blackjack poker or reading Tarot, an Ace will put a smile on your face. In Tarot, the Aces are the start of the suit cards and represent a new beginning.
The Aces are like a gift. Looking at the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, you can see this in the representation on the card. The Ace of Cups shows a gift from the Divine. The hand is radiating energy reaching out from a cloud in the heavens. This is a positive card that gives a lift to a Tarot reading.
The suit of Cups deals with the realm of emotions, so the Ace of Cups is about the start of a friendship, or the beginnings of romance, or a partnership of some kind. When this card turns up in a reading for yourself, you will feel a rush of love. See how the water flows from the cup? That’s the flow of emotions running through your body and being expressed into the world around you.
When this card turns up in a reading, it’s usually because the person you are doing the reading for has just started or is about to start a relationship. Love is flowing in all directions, and it’s probably a healthy situation for all concerned. Symbols that show it as a positive experience are the water droplets, which are in the shape of Yod, which is a Hebrew word and symbol for the Divine spark which causes everything to be. It’s the power of the spirit to bring things into existence. Think of it as divine blessings flowing towards you. And at the bottom of the image, the pink water lilies signify a blossoming of love and friendship.
The Ace of Cups is the Holy Grail from the Arthurian legends. The dove (which holds a wafer) represents peace, harmony, and the gentle stirring of emotions. This card tells us that forces are working for your advantage if you let go and flow with these energies.
